Artist Statement | read more
Lindsey Lind is an artist, musician, and performer who grew up on Vancouver Island, immersed in creativity from a young age. Touring Western Canada as a musician, she was drawn to the diversity of the Lower Mainland and settled in White Rock in 1992. Her career began in construction management, specializing in interior finishes, where she earned the highest levels of WorkSafeBC certifications, Occupational Safety Officer tickets, and ASTTBC coursework. This expertise allowed her to safely manage complex interior design projects and large-scale art installations.
In 2000, Lindsey transitioned into graphic art and design, refining her skills in printmaking and visual design while working in White Rock print shops. Her artistic practice expanded into creating large-scale banners for Pride Parade communities and designing a registration center, website, and marketing materials for the Centre for Digital Media. This led to the formation of a small creative agency while she continued developing her fine art.
Coming out as Lindsey in 2019 resulted in the loss of many professional relationships, businesses, and family ties. Despite these challenges, she has thrived as a freelance artist, successfully selling fine art and creating murals, including installations at YVR Airport. She feels at home in nature but is equally inspired by urban environments, and the transition between these worlds—much like her own gender journey—gives her a unique perspective. Her work explores the contrast between structure and fluidity, natural and built environments, and personal and collective identity, weaving these themes into every piece she creates.

The Tree Series | read more
How often have trees been excessively pruned or cut down to improve a view? It’s time we start appreciating trees as the view. Lindsey Lind’s ‘Tree Series’ invites us to see the world through the trees. This series also reflects her personal journey of feeling unseen for much of her life.
