Eat My Cake

The “Eat My Cake” logo was designed for a small bakery specializing in erotic cakes and pastries, aiming to balance tasteful humor with a touch of vintage charm. Crafting a logo for an adult-themed business requires a delicate approach to avoid crossing into territory that might seem cheap or sleazy (not that there is anything wrong with that). My goal was to create a visual identity that is both playful and sophisticated, capturing the essence of the bakery’s unique offerings while maintaining a sense of decorum.

To achieve this, I opted for a 1950s-inspired design. The 1950s aesthetic is known for its wholesome, retro appeal, often associated with classic diners, cheerful advertisements, and a sense of innocence. This nostalgic style brings a light-hearted and fun vibe to the logo, aligning perfectly with the bakery’s brand identity. The retro design elements help soften the “erotic” theme, making it approachable and appealing to a wider audience.

Key features of the design include:

  • Typography: I selected a font reminiscent of mid-century diner signs, combining readability with a playful flair. The curvy, bold lettering adds a sense of fun without being overtly provocative.
  • Color Palette: The colors were chosen to evoke a cheerful, inviting feel. Pastel tones, such as soft pinks and blues, enhance the vintage look and keep the design lighthearted while reminding us of cake, bakes and icing.
